Cookies notice

This page explains what cookies are, which ones Cloudeventgrid uses on cloudeventgrid.digital, and how you can accept, reject, or later change that choice. It complements the privacy notice.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. Similar technologies include localStorage keys. They can be essential to remember a setting, or optional and used to understand how pages are used. On this site, your first-visit choice is stored in localStorage under a brand-prefixed key so we do not ask on every page load.

Types we use

Essential. Required to remember whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies, and to keep basic site functions working. These do not profile you for marketing. Analytics (optional). Used only if you press Accept on the banner. They help us see aggregate traffic to public pages such as courses and journal notes. Rejecting analytics does not hide content, forms, or pricing. There is no dark pattern: Accept and Reject are both available on the banner.

Cookies table

Name Purpose Duration Provider
cloudeventgrid_cookie_consent Stores your Accept or Reject choice for optional cookies (localStorage key, treated like a cookie for this notice). Until you clear site data or change the choice Cloudeventgrid (first party)
ceg_session_ok Essential session marker used only if the host platform sets a short-lived stability cookie. Session or up to 24 hours Cloudeventgrid / hosting platform
_ceg_analytics Optional aggregate page views after Accept. Not set if you Reject. 6 months Cloudeventgrid (first party)

How to manage or disable cookies

Use Accept or Reject on the banner when it appears. To change a later decision, clear this site’s cookies and localStorage in your browser settings, then reload; the banner will return. You can also block cookies entirely in the browser. Most desktop browsers expose this under Settings → Privacy. Blocking all cookies may forget your consent choice, so the banner can reappear; pages, courses, and forms still work.

Third-party cookies

This site loads fonts from Google Fonts and images from public hosts such as Unsplash and Pexels. Those third parties may set their own cookies or receive your IP address when your browser requests the asset. We do not control their cookies. Review their notices if you want detail. We do not embed third-party advertising networks.

Impact of disabling

Disabling essential storage may mean we cannot remember your cookie choice. Disabling analytics simply means we will not record optional page-view metrics for your browser. Course pages, journal articles, contact forms, and informational pricing remain available either way. No feature of Cloudeventgrid teaching materials is gated on analytics consent.
